It's never been easy to make a living as a musician. But there was always a dream: to become a star on the strength of your talent and your music. The Internet is a rude sandman, however, and today that dream is a lot more convoluted. No longer can a would-be rock star follow the once-accepted checklist:
(1) Sign with a big label (2) Get a hit (3) Buy mansions and cars
The number of ways a musician can make money is now varied. The question, for many musicians still trying to make a go of it in the industry, is whether those many sources can add up to something sustainable. |

As revenues for the sale of recorded music are falling, it is becoming increasingly necessary for independent rights holders (labels, publishers and artists) to seek out alternative revenue/income streams. It is the area of Synch licensing that is presenting considerable opportunities, BUT, and it’s a massive BUT,income from Synch licensing is not the Holy Grail or is it? Great quality music will besought out by music supervisors and key decision makers all the time.
There are key areas of Synch licensing, which include; Advertising, TV, Film, Computer games and the emerging market of corporate communications (corporate videos, Intranets etc). |

Atalent manager, also known as anartist managerorband manager,
is an individual or company who guides the professional career of
artists in the entertainment industry. The responsibility of the talent
manager is to oversee the day-to-day business
affairs of an artist; advise and counsel talent concerning professional
matters, long-term plans and personal decisions which may affect their
career.
The
roles and responsibilities of a talent manager vary slightly from
industry to industry, as do the commissions to which the manager is
entitled. |

MTV Music Awards - Belfast Ireland
TheMTV Europe Music Awards"(EMA)" were established in 1994 by MTV network Europe to celebrate the most popular music videos in Europe. Originally beginning as an alternative to the American MTV video music awards, the MTV Europe Music Awards is today a popular celebration of what MTV viewers consider the best in music. The awards are chosen by MTV viewers throughout Europe.
The MTV Europe Music Awards always changes its host city. The United Kingdom
has hosted the event three times in London, Edinburgh and Liverpool. |
